In one form or another, it's been used to help people learn more about themselves for over 60 years. A considerable
amount of research has been conducted, and continues to be done so, to ensure it remains a valid and reliable tool
for people.
Developed by mother and daughter team Isabel Briggs and Catherine Myers, the mbti tool was designed to help people
discover their psychological preferences originally identified by the eminent psychiatrist Carl Jung.
In essence, the MBTI® seeks to identify which Myers-Briggs type you are. There are 16 in all, though don't think of it
as 'putting you in a box' - even people of the same type will have different experiences and different outlooks that
make them unique.
MBTI® works on the concept of preferences - in how you focus your energy, what information you pay attention to, how
you make decisions, and how you deal with the world around you.
